The aim of this article is to analyse the differences in the regulation of LGBT rights in the Member States of the European Union. The evolution of legal provisions in individual Member States is compared. The considerations also include the date of accession to the European Community / European Union and the regulations adopted by states for the LGBT community. These issues should be considered as important, taking into account the Copenhagen criteria that a given country has to meet when joining the EU. The question was asked in this research is whether and at what pace the regulations on same-sex partnerships corresponded in individual countries with the introduction of other postulates concerning the LGBT community. Attention was paid to the issue related to the date of accession of the Member States to the European Union. In the context of the sensitive social and political discourse in Poland regarding the consequences of such regulations, the regulations in the countries that joined the EU in 2004 with Poland were analysed. The main hypothesis is that the adoption of same-sex marriage regulations in the EU is not a necessary consequence of previously legalising same-sex partnerships. The introduction to the analysis is the presentation of the Copenhagen criteria, i.e., the guidelines that open the way to joining the structures of the European Union, as well as the international postulates of the LGBT community. Considering the dynamics of introduced regulations in Europe and in the world, and at the same time, treating them in Poland in controversial categories, the most discussed topics were selected. These topics include same-sex partnerships and marriage, and the adoption of children by same-sex couples.

The European and Eurasian integration forms are genuinely unique, with legislative, executive, and judicial powers at the supranational level. The comparative analysis used in this article was aimed at evaluating the Eurasian Economic Union’s (EAEU) integration in comparison with the European Union’s (EU). The article presents some common characteristics of the European and Eurasian integration processes besides noting several differences that may arise from the reasons for integration. The authors analysed, structured, and evaluated the features of the EU and EAEU by applying the interdisciplinary and comparative approach of the PESTEL factors analysis. The conclusion is that even though the EAEU has copied some EU operational mechanisms, the integration’s differences might always be tangible. The authors found particularly interesting how the historical roots of EU integration and the political reasons for enhancing the EAEU exist with similar institutional solutions. The integration’s aim in defining themselves as global actors in the globalised environment is very intriguing. It can be concluded that the EU might serve as an example worth following to the EAEU in many senses

Dealing With Regional Conflicts of Global Importance

Despite the restricted formal role of the European Parliament (EP) in foreign policy decision-making, the aim of this research is to demonstrate that the EP tries and can actively influence conflict management. Though this influence can only be informal, and cannot take the form of decisions with binding legal effects. In connection with the research goal thus defined, the authors hypothesize that the EP creates political discourse in order to mediatize the conflict using goal-framing and agenda-setting in social media. The research material includes, in addition to documents published in the EP's Public Register of Documents, primarily posts on the EP's social media. The European Parliament's aspirations to expand the scope of its powers in EU foreign policy and the EP's participation in managing the analyzed conflict through mediatization is especially evident in social media communication targeted towards citizens, related to the PE's activity in the field of rhetorical diplomacy.
