“…Geomagnetic field variations and radio waves in the frequency range up to 60 MHz, surface electric field variations, Extremely Low Frequency (ELF)/Very Low Frequency (VLF) radio emission parameters from lightning discharges and VLF radio signals (Ryakhovskii et al., 2021), acoustic and seismic observations are constantly registered in MIK. The joint analysis of data on variations of various physical fields in one point allows us to investigate the propagation parameters and the mechanisms of interrelation of various geophysical disturbances.…”

“…The observatory is located at a considerable distance from large settlements and industrial facilities. Since 2011, it has been continuously registering electromagnetic signals in the ELF/VLF frequency range (Ryakhovskii et al., 2021). Induction magnetometers Metronix MFS‐06 oriented in the direction of magnetic North‐South and West‐East are used as sensors.…”

“…The purpose of this study is to compare the results of calculations of the spatiotemporal dynamics of electron concentrations obtained using four‐, five‐, and eight‐component models of the ionization‐recombination cycle of the ionospheric D‐region, and to verify the constructed models using the data on the propagation of VLF signals obtained in the Mikhnevo geophysical observatory (GPO) (55°N 38°E) from European transmitters (Ryakhovskii et al., 2021). An analysis of the results obtained is necessary to determine the minimum set of charged components of the lower ionosphere, which should be included in the plasma‐chemical model.…”

“…To date, a lot of experimental data on the amplitude‐phase characteristics of VLF signals received from transmitters located around the world has been accumulated. Long‐term measurements of the amplitude and phase of the radio wave obtained during solar X‐ray flares of various classes make it possible to qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate the predictive capabilities of the constructed theoretical models of the lower ionosphere below the signal reflection height (Palit et al., 2013; Ryakhovskii et al., 2021).…”
