The STARK-B database as a resource for “STARK” widths and shifts data: State of advancement and program of development

Abstract: Abstract"Stark" broadening theories and calculations have been extensively developed for about 50 years and can now be applied to many needs, especially for accurate spectroscopic diagnostics and modeling. This requires the knowledge of numerous collisional line profiles. Nowadays, the access to such data via an online database becomes essential. STARK-B is a collaborative project between the Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade and the Laboratoire d'Étude du Rayonnement et de la matière en Astrophysique (LERM… Show more

“…These results cover the regions 2 ≤ n ≤ 20 and 4000 K < T ≤ 20000 K which are relevant for moderately ionized plasma layers in different environments. In order to allow for a faster usage of the calculated results we provide a fit to numerical results of the form (Sahal-Bréchot et al, 2014) log (K ci,cr…”

“…MSE data discussed here, as with SCP data, are continuously implemented in the STARK-B database [6][7][8]170,171] and are available online. STARK-B is also a part of the Virtual Atomic and Molecular Data Center (VAMDC) [172,173] and may be accessed through its portal [174].…”

“…We have found theoretical values calculated by other authors: four theoretical values for four Mg IV multiplets (Dimitrijević 1988). These values were calculated by using the Modified Semiempirical Method (MSE) by Sahal-Bréchot et al (2014) and are included in the STARK-B Database (2013). Our results for several temperatures compared with MSE data for Stark Broadening of 1683.00 Å spectral line are displayed in Fig.…”
