The Stabilization of Lithiated Organic Compounds by Water as a Ligand -Synthesis of a New Lithium-Imidazole Complex and Regioselective Reactions with Selected Electrophiles. -Deprotonation of the imidazoles (I) by LiH leads to new lithium complexes (II) which are stabilized by the presence of one molecule of H 2 O in the first complexation sphere. These complexes undergo alkylation and acylation in a regioselective fashion.
