Based on the experimental values of Carpenter (1966) Murray and Riley (1969), and Benson and Krause (1984), we propose a high-precision formula for estimating Co* (at STP, real gas) by the method of least-squares; it covers oceanic ranges of temperature and salinity. This new fit is well behaved in the temperature and salinity ranges of the data and it does not appear to deviate significantly at the extremes of temperature and salinity of the measurements.…”
