The slope of fibred surfaces: unitary rank and Clifford index
Enea Riva,
Lidia Stoppino
Abstract:We prove new slope inequalities for relatively minimal fibred surfaces, showing an influence of the relative irregularity q f , of the unitary rank u f and of the Clifford index c f on the slope. The argument uses Xiao's method and a new Clifford-type inequality for subcanonical systems on non-hyperelliptic curves.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
