The sizes of Flat Plate and Evacuated Tube Collectors with Heat Pipe area as a function of the share of solar system in the heat demand

Abstract: Abstract. The popularity of solar collectors in Poland is still increasing. The correct location of the collectors and a relatively high density of solar radiation allow delivering heat even in spite of relatively low ambient temperature. Moreover, solar systems used for heating domestic heat water (DHW) in summer allow nearly complete elimination of conventional energy sources (e.g. gas, coal). That is why more and more house owners in Poland decide to install solar system installations. In Poland the most co… Show more

“…In addition, the growing demand for energy leads to the depletion of fossil (non-renewable) primary energy resources in a short period of time, which necessitates the development of renewable energy sources, including clean and safe sources such as solar energy. Studies have focused on the efficiency and feasibility of using solar energy (Olek et al 2016). The relevance of solar energy usage has increased under the carbon neutrality challenge.…”

“…Based on the measured monthly data on energy production from both installations and statistical data on insolation on a horizontal surface and for angles characteristic for the installations under consideration (Figures 8 and 9), the correction factors for multi-year analysis were determined. The method used in calculation had been based on [31,[51][52][53]. In terms of that the following correction factors were determined: insolation coefficient (IJC), changes in insolation for a given direction and angle of panel installation (IDA), solar radiation conversion for the whole year (JSHIA).…”

“…Analysing the current situation on the photovoltaic market in European countries with a temperate climate, Poland, immediately after Germany and The Netherlands, has the largest PV market [27]. With an estimated annual insolation value of 1000 kWh/m 2 [28,29], the Polish photovoltaic sector is the fastest-developed renewable energy sector-with a total capacity of micro-installations of 4075.5 MW (data as of 31 June 2021). Comparing this with the total installed capacity as of 30 June 2017, it indicates almost a 25-fold increase in less than 4 years (Figure 2) [30].…”
