The situation in the North-Eastern Caucasus republics at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War

Abstract: This article is an attempt to analyse the military and political situation during the considered period as a prerequisite for a proper understanding of the socio-political processes that took place in Chechnya-Ingushetia and Dagestan.
