“…In a test run, the term structure of Si XI was calculated by our own technique. With very few exceptions, the analyses presented by Brandt et al [16] and by Kramida and Träbert [17] were corroborated. By cross-correlation, this also corroborates much of the analysis of the spectra of various Belike ions presented by Khardi et al [18].…”

“…At an ion beam energy of 18 MeV, the charge state distribution favoured Si X, with about equal ( but lower ) contributions by Si XI/Si IX, and Si XII/Si VIII, respectively. The strongest spectral features resulted from 3-4 transitions (notably 3d-4f transitions, which are unbranched) in Si XII (near 130 Å), Si XI (mostly 130 to 155 Å [16,17]), and Si X (mostly 155 to 190 Å). The "unexplored territory" of this latter range incited the present study.…”

“…Bhatia & Landi (2007b) published a complete dataset for Si xi that is used here. They assembled experimental energy levels from a variety of sources: Edlén (1983), Acton et al (1985), Hoory et al (1970), the NIST database (Ralchenko et al 2007), Tondello (1969), Brandt et al (1988) and Khardi et al (1994). Multiple entries from different sources were averaged together.…”

“…Energy levels, oscillator strengths, and radiative transition rates are calculated in intermediate coupling. The energies calculated with both models are listed in Table 1 along with experimentally determined energies for a number of levels taken from Edlen [17], Acton et al [5], Hoory et al [11], Version 3 of the NIST database (Ralchenko et al [18]), Tondello [19], Brandt et al [20] and Khardi et al [10]. A few more values were obtained by averaging the measurements of the NIST database, Hoory et al [11], Tondello [19] and Fawcett et al [9].…”
