Abstract

The Sexual Revolution: Has It Embraced the Disabled Co-Ed? lee meyerson Nondisabled university students (10 male, 10 female, 20 to 30 years old) responded to two interview questions about the sexual aspects of a co-ed's life in a wheelchair and to two questions about hostile letters to the editor which followed the appearance of a story in the student newspaper. The responses were uniformly bland, tolerant, and acquiescent toward whatever anyone else wanted to do sexually. Equally tenable are conclusions that collegiate attitudes toward sexual freedom include the disabled also, or that the results reflect the high value respondents place on personal autonomy rather than attitudes toward sexual behavior by disabled people.
