“…Yang et al introduced boronic acid functionalized CDs as the biosensor nanomaterials for detecting galactose. The boronic acid moiety present on the CD surface reacted with cis -diol units of galactose to give rise cyclic boronate esters, leading to quenching and selective detection of galactose in human urine [ 131 ]. Bhattacharya et al also used aminoguanidine based CDs for nitric oxide (NO) detection via formation of azo dye [ 132 ].…”

“…These components are indicative of the presence of boron element with two chemical environments. The component at 183.9 eV was assigned to B-C bond, while the other component at 190.5 eV was assigned to B-O bond ( Yang et al, 2016 ). The presence of boron and nitrogen peaks on the Au-MBA-APBA SAM confirms the successful amide coupling of APBA onto an Au-MBA SAM.…”

“…A Coumarin derivative (C) was prepared according to the literature . The synthesis of C-GQDs was carried out according to the literature with a certain modification . In short, GQDs (50 mg) were blended with DMF (20 mL) and sonicated for 1 h to form homogeneous dispersion, EDC (76.8 mg, 0.4 mmol) was added into this system.…”
