The second harmonic generation in GaAs/GaAlAs spherical quantum dots under Woods-Saxon plus attractive inversely quadratic potential

Abstract: We examine the profile of second harmonic generation (SHG) for GaAs/GaAlAs spherical quantum dots (QDs) of Woods-Saxon (WS) plus attractive inversely quadratic (AIQ) potential under the joint influence of additional factors (pressure and temperature) and structural parameters (strengths and radius). The energies and wave functions in GaAs/GaAlAs spherical QDs under WS-AIQ limiting potential are calculated using parametric Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method. Depending on the calculated energies and corresponding wave… Show more

“…We observe that the intraband transition has a smaller energy transition compared to the interband transition. As a result, the TPA spectra for the intraband transition (figure 3(a)) are localized in a smaller energy range and have a larger peak value compared to the TPA spectra for the interband transition (figure 3(b)), similar to that in quantum ring [38]. On the other hand, from figure 2, we can see that as ℓ increases, the distance between energy levels decreases.…”

“…The theory of two-photon absorption coefficient was recently developed by Gong et al [21] associated with both interband transitions and intraband transitions under the second-order perturbation theory with respect to the electron-photon interaction [19,20]. This theory was then successfully applied to investigate the TPA properties of quantum rings [38]. In this study, we investigate the nonlinear optical properties of a GaAs/AlGaAs SQD with the Hellmann potential by studying the two-photon absorption (TPA) process.…”

“…As a special second-order nonlinear optical effect, the OR effect has high-speed response characteristics, occupying a non-negligible position in the study of electro-optical effect and light-speed detection of nonlinear materials [6][7][8][9][10][11]. Therefore, studies on the OR effect have been carried out one after another.…”
