OBJECTIVES-To evaluate the relationship among the measures in a power wheelchair outcomes toolkit. DESIGN-We performed path analysis of cross-sectional data from self-report questionnaires and one objective measure. SETTING-Data were collected in six Canadian sites.PARTICIPANTS-A convenience sample of 128 power wheelchair users. The majority, 69 (53.9%), were female. Multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury/disease were the most common diagnoses. RESULTS-Wheelchair confidence was independently associated with less difficulty with activity (β =0.08, 0.01

0.05) and participation (β=0.39, p<0.01), increased life space (β=0.09, p<0.03) and greater wheelchair skills (β=0.37, p<0.01) Less perceived difficulty with activity was independently associated with increased frequency of participation (β=0.30, p<0.01). Life space mobility was independently associated with increased frequency of participation ((β=0.31, p<0.01). Less difficulty with participation was independently associated with greater life-space mobility (β=0.32, p<0.01) and greater frequency of participation (β=0.13, p<0.01). INTERVENTIONS-NotCONCLUSION-This study provides empirical support for the measures included as part of the power wheelchair outcomes toolkit. They appear to provide complementary information on a variety of constructs related to power wheelchair use.

Abstract:The rapid growth of student loan debt has led to increased public attention on college students' financial aid and financial behaviour. This study addresses the psychological process underlying effective college student financial behaviour and its determinants. A model modified based on planned behaviour theory is proposed and empirically tested using a sample of 243 college students. Structural equation modelling (SEM) is employed to examine the model fits and to investigate the relationship among the proposed factors. The determinants of financial behaviour identified by this study include attitude, intention, and perceived behavioural control, past behaviour, subjective norm, behavioural beliefs, subjective norm beliefs, and control beliefs. The dual issues of leadership features and innovativeness constitute an important component of the related literature along with the studies focusing on the connections between these two. The current study considers this connection with the notion that innovativeness should be included as a feature of a leader, but it also moves further by trying to understand how leadership orientations and innovativeness are patterned together within the leadership concept. To this end, the authors of the current study collect data from the top managers of businesses in the Istanbul Leather Organized Industrial Zone and perform inferential analyses. It is discovered that leadership orientations have three and that innovativeness has five distinct factors. A structural equation model that includes all of these factors together under the concept of leadership is proposed. Although all of the innovativeness factors are found to be integrated within this model, only one factor for leadership orientationspeople orientation -can be integrated within the model. In other words, innovativeness can entirely be included within the proposed model of leadership, but leadership orientations can only partially be included. Most of the innovativeness factors are positively and moderately related to leadership, albeit assertiveness is not considerably favored. Overall, the emphasis appears to be on people oriented and innovative leadership.
