The Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation is actively working to improve domestic legislation. As a result of this activity, the composition and powers of state authorities have significantly changed, a number of which are endowed with new powers. In this regard, the mutual influence and the degree of independence of the branches of state power have significantly changed in Russia.The article presents an approach to assessing the degree of independence of the branches of state power, and the authors also propose a possible way to distribute the plurality of federal state bodies of the Russian Federation between the three existing branches of state power. For example, the justification that the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation belongs to the executive branch of state power.
