“…The impact of COVID-19 is enormous. Major countries worldwide suspended work and limited production in response to the effects of the epidemic, causing plummeting global crude oil demand and pessimistic market sentiment [ 66 , 67 ]. Meanwhile, the quantitative easing policies of major economies led to a sharp drop in international oil prices.…”

“…Uncertainties in terms of epidemics, wars, and antiglobalization trades have increased in recent decades, leading to extensive investigations on energy security worldwide. As a conventional fossil fuel, coal is expected to remain the primary source of energy in China in the coming decades. To ensure energy security, the Chinese government has proposed increasing the deployable coal storage from 100 to 200 million tons . For coal storage, silos are widely used in power plants, ports, and other places owing to the advantages of environmental protection, high space utilization rate, and convenient transportation. However, the closed environment of silos results in a heat storage condition that could lead to the low-temperature oxidation (LTO) of coal, which increases the risk of spontaneous combustion of silo coal. Therefore, the characteristics of the LTO and spontaneous combustion of silo coal should be investigated for ensuring the safety of silos.…”

“…Firstly, this, to the authors' knowledge, is the first research to quantitatively measure the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war on oil prices. By focusing on the Russia-Ukraine war, this study contributed to the scant research on the influence of war/terrorism (see Blomberg et al, 2009;Kollias et al, 2013;Ma et al, 2021;Ruiz Estrada et al, 2020;Wang & Sun, 2017) on oil prices. Secondly, this study contributed to the extensive literature on the drivers of oil prices.…”
