The Rules of Reading: Examples of Reading and Library Use in Early Twentieth-Century Swedish Families

Abstract: In this paper it is observed that an orientation towards the library user is occurring within the field of library history. As reading is an important aspect of library use, it is suggested that library history would benefit from using approaches and perspectives developed by historians of reading.
