The Round-Ended Design and Measurement of All Symmetric Edge-Coupled Bandpass Filter

Abstract: The round-corner design of an all symmetric edge-coupled bandpass filter (BPF) is presented. The manufacturing tolerances and its effects of frequency shift on the design of the edge-coupled are investigated. Consequently, the round-ended design method is proposed in order to compensate the open-end effect in the halfwavelength resonator section with the round-ended corners rather than decrementing the lengths in a conventional way, and an experience formula and a corresponding procedure are devised for the de… Show more

“…Measurements were carried out at a Vector Network Analyser Agilent N5225A. All measurement results are calibrated by TRL [8,16] method for de-embedding. For the tuning of the wave guide BPF, the stress of the two halves of the filter can be adjusted just as in Fig.…”

“…As shown in Fig. 4, the ultra-wideband antenna has a bandwidth of 36% (18)(19)(20)(21)(22)(23)(24)(25)(26), circular polarization, and a VSWR of 1.4, 1.8, and 1.6 at the radiometer typical operating frequencies, respectively. The performance of the antenna demonstrating the beamwidth of 10-14 • , gain of 19-25 dB, side lobe of less than 20 dB, and back lobe of less than 30 dB over the radiometer's frequency range.…”

“…It consists of a 48-element U-shape antenna array, and each receiver channel is composed of a mmW receiver [7][8][9] and an IF IQ demodulator. The DSP subsystem computes complex correlations between IF I/Q output pairs of all receivers simultaneously, with the results calibrated to form visibility samples, whose IFT generate the brightness temperature of the field of view (FOV).…”
