“…These tests include the Clinical Dementia Rating [24,25], Mini Mental State Examination [25‐28], Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale [28,29] Useful Field of Vision [26‐28], Trail‐making test A and B [28,30], and Clock drawing test [31]. Some cognitive screening tools are specifically aimed at assessing driving competency, such as the Cognitive Behavioral Driver's Inventory [32], the Rockwood Driving Battery [33], DriveSafe, and DriveAware [34]. The CPAD used in this study is also one of the batteries used to screen cognitive skills essential for safe driving.…”

“…However, from the publication, it is unclear as to what the sensitivity and the specificity would be for the study group as a whole using a specified cut-off score. The Rookwood Driving Battery (Rees et al, 2008) is composed of 12 tests, including three subtests of the Behavioural Assessment of Dysexecutive Syndrome (Wilson, Alderman, Burgess, Emslie & Evans, 2003), and the Weigl Sorting Task (Weigl, 1927), takes 30-40 minutes to administer and was found to have a sensitivity of 92% and specificity of 71% in predicting on-road driving performance (McKenna et al, 2004). The Sensory Motor Cognitive Tests (SMCT) showed very high sensitivity (97%) and specificity (89%) in patients with brain disorders in relation to on-road driving tests (Innes et al, 2007).…”

“…She and her colleagues identified visuospatial perception, attention, executive function, praxis and comprehension as being the important domains of cognition involved in the task of driving (Rees et al, 2008). Using this research, accompanied by results from the task analysis, a list of cognitive domains essential for the task of parking was developed.…”
