The roles of Tyrosinase in the feather pigment pattern formation.

Abstract: early melanosomes (Basrur, et al., 2002). Along with the recent release of the nearly complete zebrafish genome, these results suggest that nearly all genes implicated to date in vertebrate pigmentation are found in zebrafish and confirm the feasibility of using morpholinos for the investigation of pigmentation in this model vertebrate. As such, the zebrafish is uniquely positioned as a viable molecular genetic system for the study of conserved genes involved in vertebrate pigmentation.
