“…More importantly, our findings also extended the shattered world assumption (Janoff-Bulman, 2006) by showing that intrusive rumination also promote the realization of PTG via indirect way, and indicated that intrusive rumination had "two-side" effect on posttraumatic reactions (Zhou et al, 2014b(Zhou et al, , 2015b. Compared to the model of PTG from Calhoun and Tedeschi (2006), our findings also extended the assumptions of this model by finding that the effect of intrusive rumination on deliberate rumination only occurred in a cross-sectional scope but not a longnitudinal one.…”

“…We firstly examined a measurement model that involved PTSD and PTG latent structure by according to Anderson and Gerbing (1988) suggestions. Then, the PTSD latent variable was evaluated according to the scores for the CPSS subscales of intrusion, avoidance and hyper-arousal (Foa et al, 2001), whereas the PTG latent variable was evaluated in terms of perceived changes in the self, a changed sense of relationships with others, and a changed philosophy of life (Zhou et al, 2014a(Zhou et al, , 2014b Next, according to the hypotheses, we applied an SEM approach to assess the following models: structural paths from intrusive rumination at T1 to PTSD and PTG at T3, such that PTSD and PTG were assumed to be related because of their observed coexistence in trauma survivors (Tedeschi and Calhoun, 1996). We also inserted mediators (e.g., intrusive and deliberate rumination at T2) between intrusive rumination at T1 and PTSD/PTG at T3 and added one path from intrusive rumination at T2 to deliberate rumination at T2 to establish a multiple indirect effects model (see Fig.…”

“…It is an appropriate measure for children aged 8 to 18 years. The CPSS was translated into Chinese and validated in Chinese children and adolescents (Zhou, Wu, An, & Chen, ). It includes 17 items that measure the occurrence and frequency of PTSD symptoms as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (4th ed.…”

“…Event Related Rumination Inventory (ERRI). The modified Event Related Rumination Inventory was adopted to measure adolescents' intrusive and deliberate rumination (Zhou, Wu, An & Chen, 2014b). The inventory assesses intrusive (10 items) and deliberate rumination (10 items) of recent two weeks.…”
