The Role of Virtual Reality in Green Building Design

Abstract: Green buildings have now become the basis of the ideal sustainable development. The application of the green building concept can be seen from three points of view, namely environmental, economic, and social aspects. Virtual Reality allows researchers to conduct realtime analytical studies of green building indicators and compare them with scenarios at the next design stage. This paper discusses the role of Virtual Reality in green building. The methodology in this paper uses a literature study research method… Show more

“…The apparent activation energy of the composite phase change heat storage material is higher than that of pure stearic acid, indicating that the acidified carbon nanotubes have a hindering effect on the thermal diffusion of stearic acid molecular segments, which increases the difficulty of the phase change process and affects the hardness of the stearic acid, the increase of the thermal conductivity of stearic acid increases the thermal conductivity by only 1.3 times that of pure stearic acid after adding 1% mass fraction of carbon nanotubes [ 17 , 18 ]. The X-ray diffraction results showed that the ball milling treatment had a certain influence on the structure of carbon nanotubes, and the phase of carbon nanotubes after mixed acid oxidation did not change.…”

“…Building virtual prototypes with VR is more environmentally friendly, which can also reduce material waste and overall waste disposal costs. When using VR, architects can visualize the effect of their designs in different conditions and adjust and optimize the heating, cooling, and solar energy system according to the orientation of the building (Suryawinata & Mariana, 2022). The emergence of MR technology enables the superposition of virtual objects in the real environment, helping designers to estimate the bill of quantities better (BOQs) (Srivastava et al, 2022).…”

“…Virtual Reality (VR) refers to a computer-generated depiction of an image or environment that enables user interaction through the utilization of specialized software or electronic gear (Suryawinata and Mariana, 2022). According to (Abdelhameed, 2013), Virtual reality is a technological innovation that substitutes the sensory information derived from the physical world with computer-generated sensory data through simulation.…”

“…However, their participation and comments play a vital role in achieving a result of superior quality (Sateei et al, 2022). Virtual Reality (VR) is regarded as one of the most promising technologies of the present decade, with its potential being nearly limitless (Suryawinata and Mariana, 2022). VR is a significant asset and facet of our future.…”
