Educational cartoons have emerged as a prominent factor in developing pre-primary children. Video and mobile platforms facilitate the acquisition of various skills and promote early childhood preparedness. This study focuses on examining the role of Edu-cartoons in imparting necessary reading skills to pre-primary children while identifying the significance of Edu-cartoons in imparting reading skills to children as the specific objective of this study. The study is informed by the Social Learning Theory by Albert Bandula; Krejcie and Morgan's formula was used to obtain a sample size of 200 participants, and a computer-aided koboTool program with cartoons giving instructions to children was used to solicit information on Edu-cartoons reading skills from 150 children. Further, 25 pre-primary teachers and 25 parents were also exposed to semi-structured interviews on Android phones aided with KoboTool programs. Data collected from Temihill, St. Francis, Westland, Greenlane, and Shauri Jema pre & primary schools were analysed using SPSS version 27.1. The findings reveal that, apart from website sources such as Ubongo Kids and Kilimani Sesame, children access the same content from local Television and TV cables. Moreover, the study finds that Edu-cartoons help improve children's pronunciation skills during reading, develop reading comprehension and increase vocabulary to children. The study recommends that parents and teachers guide children on where they can access relevant information resources to enhance reading competencies

The article discusses the idea of designing teaching approach by using cartoon videos as a tool for teaching vocabulary to young learners, specifically 4th and 5th grade elementary school students who are typically 10-11 years old. The article emphasizes that in the current modern era, a variety of media have already become a part of our daily lives, particularly for children who watch YouTube, Tiktok, and other ssocial media videos. Consequently, teaching and learning process should adapt with the advancement of technology. Designing teaching vocabulary for young learners by using cartoon videos are suitable since young learners are more open-minded, have developed concrete operational thinking, and are motivated to solve their own learning problems. This article also provides a lesson plan which can be utilized in Classroom Action Research (CAR). Overall, the article believes that using cartoon videos is an effective teaching strategy for young learners because it is engaging, enjoyable, and it helps students to learn more effectively. Influence of Video Games on Children’s English Language Learning: A Case of Bangladesh

Playing video games has become an integral part of children’s lives now a days. The purpose of this study is to understand and measure the influence of playing video games on children’s English language learning. This exploratory study has been conducted in three steps. In the first step, a quantitative approach has been used, where data have been collected from 180 children by using a survey questionnaire. In the second step, a set of qualitative data have been collected by structured interview from 10 guardians whose children play video games on a regular basis. In the study’s third step, a two-sample t-test has been conducted to compare the English language skills of two groups of children, who played video games, and who did not. This comparison was based on the results of the children’s sudden proficiency test in English. After analyzing all the data, it is found that playing video games increases children’s basic language skills as well as grammar, spelling and vocabulary knowledge. Playing games reduce linguistic fear and enhance confidence. It is found from the statistical analysis (t-test) that the average score of proficiency test for one group, who play video games in regular basis, is higher than the average score of proficiency test of the other group, who do not play video games. So, this result demonstrates that the children who play video games are having better knowledge in English than other children. It implies that video games have a positive effect on children’s English language learning.
