“…Zeolites as microporous aluminosilicates with crystalline structures are widely used in numerous industrial processes due to their appropriate acidity and shape-selective properties, namely in catalysis, adsorption and separation [1][2][3][4]. According to the Structure Commission of the International Zeolite Association (IZA) about 200 different framework topologies having various sizes and connectivities of the channels are known (http://www.iza-online.org/).…”

“…Since these supercages are only accessible through the 10-ring micropores, the diffusion of bulky coke precursors into the cages may be obstructed. The involvement of the cage structures in the MCM-68 may be similar to that of the one-dimensional cage structures in SSZ-35 and MCM-58 6) . Both MCM-68 catalysts before and after dealumination were regenerated after reaction at 600 to show almost the same performance as the initial catalysts 12) .…”

“…The acidity of SSZ-35 was studied by pyridine adsorption, and the degree of pyridine adsorbed on the zeolite at high temperature (793 K) in comparison with at low temperature (443 K) was measured as the parameter to show the strength of the acidity [7]. Thus measured acid strength of the SSZ-35 was very high, and the acidity of b zeolite, in contrast, was characterized to be weak.…”

“…The Constrain Index which was measured from the competitive cracking reaction of 3-methylpentane and hexane was found to be lower than expected from the channel 10-ring; therefore the large cavity seemed to play a role in the reaction [5,6]. Recently, applications to the catalytic reactions were studied, and it was reported that the presence of 18-ring cages in the channels of 10-ring gave rise to an unusual catalytic behavior in the alkylation and disproportionation of toluene [7] and p-xylene [8]. Such catalytic reactions as isopropylation of biphenyl [9] and butane conversion [10] were studied on the H-and Cr-loaded SSZ-35, respectively.…”
