“…The fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) include about 23 known proteins and their receptors are associated with PC playing a role in tissue hyperplasia, transition of EMT, tumor metastasis, and angiogenesis ( 70 ). FGF is overexpressed in PC and promotes cell growth, proliferation, and invasion ( 71 , 72 ).…”

“…7C displays the up-and downregulation of most differentially expressed genes in Zeb1 þ/þ and Zeb1 þ/À mPSCs. Those pathways include genes controlling the expression of soluble cues reportedly involved in the paracrinal regulation of oncogenic Ras signaling in cancer cells, such as members belonging to Wnt (39,40), IGF-1 (41), FGF (42), and EGF (43-45) signaling pathways. The manifest downregulation of these genes in Zeb1 þ/À mPSCs supports our data showing the boosting effect of tumor Ras activity elicited by conditioned media of Zeb1-expressing mPSC and underscore the non-cellautonomous control exerted by Zeb1 on pancreatic tumor growth.…”
