In the contemporary times, with the major conflict of the Russo-Ukrainian War, the global economies are facing several challenges and disputes in various economic, energy, and financial sectors. Still, policymakers and scholars are concerned about exploring factors affecting greener energy. The present study examines the impact of research and development (R&D) budgets, financial globalization and socio-economic conditions on greener energy adoption. Besides, this study considers the role of internal and external conflicts on greener energy adoption in the "Emerging Seven" economies during the period 1990-2020. Using various diagnostic and cointegration tests, the results revealed the presence of cross-sectional dependence, heterogeneous slopes and a longrun equilibrium relationship. This study employes panel quantile regression and finds that R&D budgets, financial globalization, socio-economic conditions and internal and external conflicts significantly promote greener energy adoption. Still, the influence of socio-economic conditions is inconsistent across quantiles. Using the autoregressive distributed lag model as a robustness measure, this study validates the positive impact of variables on greener energy adoption, except external conflicts. However, all the variables adversely influence greener energy adoption in the short run. The empirical results also validate bidirectional and unidirectional causal associations of the variables. Following the results, this study recommends further enhancement in the R&D budgets and financial globalization and limiting conflicts in emerging economies.

Against the backdrop of global energy transition and the imperative for sustainable development, the trade dynamics of solar photovoltaic (PV) products among “Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)” countries gained momentum. This study investigates the evolving trade patterns of PV products within BRI nations, alongside the underlying determinants. The paper constructs and analyzes a solar PV product trade network, elucidating evolutionary trends, structural complexities, and clusters. A novel centrality influence model explores influencing factors across five dimensions. Methodologically, trade data, the “Five Connectivity” framework, and socio-economic indicators from 2001 to 2022 across 65 BRI countries underpin the study. Empirical insights reveal a robust PV product trade network with density exceeding 0.4 and reciprocity surpassing 0.38. China’s rising centrality, reflected in a weighted degree surge from 14.38 to 79.37 since 2011, signifies its consolidation within the network. Results show sustained high density and reciprocity in the PV trade network, signaling robust communication among BRI countries. China’s centrality in the network has consistently grown since 2011. Trade cluster analysis reveals isolated segments predominant, depicting emerging economies with limited photovoltaic exchanges, mainly export-focused. The study highlights the pivotal role of “Five Connectivity” dimensions in promoting PV trade, while financial connectivity’s impact remains modest. The emergence of PV product centers challenges traditional energy hubs, prompting the need for new energy trading paradigms and robust financial hubs.

The possibility of Prabowo Subianto's re-nomination as a presidential candidate in Indonesia for 2019-2024 raises questions about whether his figure, having previously lost in the 2014 presidential election, can create a positive attitude among the Indonesian public, especially first-time voters. In addition to perceptions of the figure which is the focus of this research, the media's significant role in shaping the attitudes of first-time voters is also discussed. This study is a quantitative research with primary data obtained from questionnaires of 250 respondents from five universities in Jakarta and Bandung. The research also uses supplementary data through interviews and literature studies. The analysis technique utilizes multiple regression analysis.The results show a significant and positive influence between the figure and media on the attitudes of first-time voters in viewing Prabowo Subianto. The findings reinforce theories of political communication and political culture regarding the role of figures / political actors in shaping public attitudes or opinions with the aid of media reporting.
