The role of polyaniline and plasticizer on the development of the electrical conductivity of PHB composites

Abstract: This work is aimed to use polyaniline (PAni) as the conductive filler with a different weight percentage for the development of the electrical conductivity in poly (3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) to apply in the green electronic devices and biomedical application. PHB is brittle, and for this reason, it has mixed with polypropylene carbonate (PPC)/plasticizer (TEC) to improve its toughness and then mixed with PANI/CB to introduce semi-conductive biopolymer. I-V characteristics of the samples were measured and showed… Show more

“…[35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42] Likewise, the underlying (TGA) thermograms can be utilized to calculate the activation energy (E a ) of thermal decomposition reaction. [43][44][45] With legitimate trial methodology, data about the kinetics of decomposition can be acquired and the information obtained from thermogravimetric investigations might be utilized as criteria for the decision of a polymer. The assurance of kinetic parameters as observed from the nonisothermal thermogravimetry is a standout among the most troublesome kinetic problems.…”

“…PHB is biodegradable and has been used in healthcare such as surgical sutures, nerve repair, and drug delivery. [ 28,77,79,80,81 ,] Melanins are naturally occurring conductive pigments, chemically characterized as heteropolymers of 5,6‐dihydroxyindole and 5,6‐dihydroxyindole‐2‐carboxylic acid. The electrical conductivity of melanin ranges from 10 −8 S cm −1 in the dehydrated state up to 10 −3 S cm −1 in the fully hydrated state.…”

“…It was observed that the additions of conductive materials to these polymers not only increases the electrical conductivity but also improves its mechanical properties. [7][8][9][10][11][12] Rubber is comprehensively utilized in various fields of modern and cultural applications because of its excellent elasticity and reversible deformability, just as water and heat resistance properties. On the off chance that NR is proposed to satisfy market consumptions, its undesired actual properties should be improved.…”
