The role of neurotrophic factors in autism

Abstract: Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are pervasive developmental disorders that frequently involve a triad of deficits in social skills, communication and language. For the underlying neurobiology of these symptoms, disturbances in neuronal development and synaptic plasticity have been discussed.
