The role of maternal emotional attitude in the development of self-consistency in over-fives children

Abstract

The results of the study of the influence of the characteristics of the emotional side of parent-child interaction on the development of independence in children of senior preschool age are presented in the article. The theoretical foundations of the research problem are described. The autonomy of senior preschool children is considered as an integrative characteristic of the personality, which has emotional-motivational, volitional and cognitive components in its structure. The results of multiple regression and correlation analyses of the relationship between the indicators of emotional parental attitude and autonomy of senior preschool children are given. 99 mothers and 102 children aged 5 years 7 months to 7 years 5 months. 38 boys and 64 girls took part in the study. We used methods such as the questionnaire of child-parent emotional interaction, the projective method of typology of subjective regulation of the child for diagnostics of the level of "autonomy-dependence" in 5- to 7-year-old preschool children; the adapted subtest "Understanding", the initiative manifestation map. It is revealed that the characteristics of emotional parent-child interaction influence the components of children's autonomy differently; they can simultaneously promote the development of one component and hinder the formation of the other one.
