El estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar las diferencias entre los estudios realizados sobre comunicación organizacional interna en los contextos europeo, estadounidense y latinoamericano; la investigación de revisión bibliográfica analizó 17 artículos científicos publicados en base de datos de alto impacto. Como resultado se encontró que la comunicación organizacional interna es estudiada desde un enfoque multidisciplinario, asimismo el principal enfoque utilizado por Europa y Estados Unidos es el interpretativo, a través de la Teoría Simétrica, el cual permite relacionar el concepto de comunicación interna con nuevas variables de estudio. Como conclusión se identificó que las diferencias entre los estudios realizados sobre comunicación organizacional interna en los contextos europeo, estadounidense y latinoamericano se presenta primordialmente en el enfoque teórico, predominado el paradigma interpretativo en Estados Unidos y Europa, mientras que en América Latina se mantiene el estudio a través del paradigma funcionalista. Por otro lado, en la unidad de análisis, las investigaciones en el contexto estadunidense y europeo integran a varias organizaciones en una misma investigación, a diferencia del contexto latinoamericano, en el que predomina el estudio individual y aislado de una organización.
