The study applies the fuzzy approach to measuring material deprivation from a multidimensional perspective. By taking into account the intensity of deprivation this approach goes beyond the conventional research using the deprived/non-deprived dichotomy. The study is based on the European Union Statistics on Income and Living Conditions data including a set of nine-item material deprivation indicators adopted by all European Union countries. In order to examine the effects of social reforms introduced by the Polish government in 2016, it focuses on the situation of Polish households in 2015 and 2017. The study aims to identify correlates of material deprivation in Poland using the zero-inflated beta regression model. This model enables to understand the mechanisms behind the risk and the intensity of material deprivation. Moreover, the study provides evidence that households with at least three children experienced meaningful improvement during the studied period. This is probably due to the introduction of the ‘Family 500+’ programme supporting mainly large families.

The presence of women migrants in urban industrial workers proved that women's movement exists. This migration process not only indicates that women are actively involved in economic activity, but also influences the decision-making on important activities within the family and society. This study aims to determine the relationship between mobility patterns and its contribution to economic and decision-making in the family through the survey as research methods. The data were analysed by descriptive analysis, statistics approach, and correlation maps. For the independence test in the bivariate table, we used the chi square method, and to display the distribution of two variables simultaneously, a cross-tabulation was used. After that, to assess whether there is a relationship between the two variables, the table of independence was used. Our study shows that decision-making became an indicator of strengthening the role of women with a pattern of circular migration, which has a relationship on economic contribution. However, the behavior of women who perform the spatial migration in strengthening roles in families is not always relevant with the strengthening role of the economy. A strong role is only demonstrated by industrial migrant workers working on a circular migration pattern.

Severe material deprivation affects approximately 3 million people in Spain, having experienced a significant increase after the economic crisis of 2008. This phenomenon is relevant in the context of the economic approach to crime, as it is considered to have a positive impact on the incidence of delinquency. Despite the social magnitude of this problem, the majority of international research has overlooked the non-monetary dimensions of inequality, focusing almost exclusively on income inequality. This study aims to fill this gap by examining how material deprivation influences delinquency in the specific case of Spain. To do so, an indicator representing material deprivation is used, and a differences-GMM estimator is employed for 16 Spanish regions covering the period 2013-2019. The results indicate that in Spain, material inequality is a criminogenic factor that should be taken into account, particularly when it approaches the threshold of severe material deprivation. Furthermore, it is found that both improvements in economic conditions and deterrent public policies are key factors in reducing criminality.
