A China é um país que cresceu rapidamente nas últimas décadas e sua realidade ainda é pouco compreendida no ocidente. Dessa maneira, o modo de atuação governamental nesse crescimento orientado a ciência, tecnologia e inovação merece a atenção, principalmente, de países emergentes. Portanto, o presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar o papel do governo nos parques científicos e tecnológicos chineses. Para tanto, foi realizada uma revisão da literatura na base de dados Scopus. A partir do protocolo de seleção, foram filtrados 12 artigos que serviram de base para nossa análise. Os resultados demonstram que o governo Chinês exerce forte influência sobre o desenvolvimento dos parques no país. Uma vez que, a partir da década de 80, promoveu fortemente políticas para criação de parques tecnológicos, principalmente, por meio do programa Torch. Atualmente, essa política orientada a inovação é estudada por diversos autores que buscam uma melhor compreensão do sistema de inovação chinês.

Science Parks (SPs) have become a widely spread mechanism of global innovation. An assessment of SPs generally uses performance indicators, but perceptual measures are also recommended because of their capacity to identify specific objectives more distinctly among different firms. This study explores the relationship between the tenant's profile and the perceived benefits of being located in a Science Park. The presentation of new evidence on the perceived value of the SP facilities and services would contribute to increasing the effectiveness and overall performance of the SPs and that of their wide range of tenants. An empirical study is conducted on a sample of 29 firms located in the University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV). A Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) is applied to our survey in order to identify various combinations of causal conditions, namely linking the attributes that define the firm's profile (performance, age and technology level) to different possible perceived benefits of being in a science park. Our results reveal that to be a firm with a relatively low economic performance is a necessary condition for being located in a science park in search of a more fluid access to funding. In addition, we find several combinations of sufficient conditions for each one of the three factors affecting location decisions: proximity to a university, availability of funds, and agglomeration effects.

Objective of the study: The aim of this study was to develop a systemic framework to understand the nature and dynamics of technology parks in Brazil and to analyze the mais determinants for evaluating their performance in the settlement process.Relevance/originality: This work is unprecedented for the analysis of the dissemination of technology parks in Brazil, throughout its history, and for the application of multivariate data analysis for performance analysis in the settlement (number of tenant companies).Methodology/approach: This study is characterized as a qualitative and quantitative combination of research methods, defined as combined exploratory, carried out in two phases. The qualitative approach is carried out first, with the aim of exploring the research topic in order to provide subsidies for the quantitative phase.Main results: The Simple Correspondence Analysis demonstrated that the two determinants that impact the settlement of technology parks in Brazil are financing and park´s age, confirming the thesis that they are long-term enterprises.Theoretical/methodological contributions: This study is characterized as a qualitative and quantitative combination of research methods, defined as combined exploratory, carried out in two phases. The qualitative approach is carried out first, with the aim of exploring the research topic in order to provide subsidies for the quantitative phase.Social/management contributions: The results demonstrate the importance of technology parks in Brazil and the need to maintain public policies in the long term, in order to increase the size of parks, in terms of concentration of new technology-based companies, and attraction of anchor companies, generating jobs and income qualified.
