Major interpersonal communication problems that are manifested in the context of negative affectivity include poor problem solving and dysfunctional conflict resolution strategies (Hanzal & Segrin, 2009), as well as a greater propensity to enact intimate partner violence (Hellmuth & McNulty, 2008).
