Within this work the effects of blending oxymethylene ethers (OMEn) to a diesel surrogate (50 mol% n-dodecane, 30 mol% farnesane, and 20 mol% 1-methylnaphthalene) were investigated by performing two different types of experiments: measurements of the sooting propensity and of the laminar burning velocity, each in laminar premixed flames. For the sooting propensity, OME3, OME4, and OME5 were considered as blending compounds—each in mass fractions of 10%, 20%, and 30%. The sooting propensity was found to depend strongly on the OMEn blending grade but not on its chain length. In addition, the effect on the laminar burning velocity was studied for OME4 and the admixture of 30% OME4 with diesel surrogate for the first time. This admixture was found to lead to increased burning velocities; however, much less than might be foreseen when considering the respective values of the neat fuels.

The study intends to assess long-term mitigation strategies for reducing CO2 emissions from internal combustion. The research makes use of well-known academic literature with relevant information, covers arguments, comprehension, findings, conclusions, and suggestions from literature. Concepts of combustion, internal combustion engines (ICEs), benefits of internal combustion, CO2 emission, consequences of CO2 emission on the environment, and CO2 emission mitigating measures were taken into consideration for the evidence gathered in this study. The established, reviewed literature served as the basis, pointing petroleum as the primary source of energy for both industrial and home uses is the ICEs. However, it is also account for greenhouse gas emissions like CO2 and others, which have a direct impact on the world climate, thus strongly urges the advancement of environmental sustainability through the dissemination of fresh scientific findings that will aid in reducing CO2 and other greenhouse gases. The use of electric vehicles and biofuel applications were discussed as alternative to the fossil products. The research finding revealed that the use of internal engine a gasoline (GE) car produces 167g of CO2 gas per kilometer, a diesel vehicle (DE) emits 134g, a hybrid (HEV) emits 145g and an electric vehicle (BEV) emits 114g, according to the life cycle assessment. The use of Coconut B5, B15 fuel gives CO2 raise of 2.54 % B20%,4.64 B100%. While when of Camelina fuel lower 13.8 % of B100 than B20%, thus revealed that biofuel can increase or decrease in emission generation. However, biofuel is considered as an alternative energy source that is currently being researched and applied as fuel in motorized vehicles.

With the proposal of carbon peak and neutrality goals, variable renewable energies (VREs mainly wind power and solar) will usher in fast development. To ensure the effective consumption of VREs, it is necessary to improve the flexibility of power system. With the high proportion of VREs, the risk of insufficient flexibility of power system increases, and serious abandonment of VREs may occur. Energy storage is an effective means to improve system flexibility and increase VREs’ utilization rate. At present, many provinces in China have issued requirements for the allocation of energy storage for VRE projects, but there is little literature to analyze the impact of the allocation of energy storage in VRE stations on the utilization rate of VREs. In this paper, the joint optimization model of VRE stations and energy storage is established, which can accurately simulate the equivalent power after energy storage is configured in the VRE station. This model is used to study the impact of energy storage configuration proportion on the utilization rate of the VRE station.
