The role of Chinese universities in enterprise–university research collaboration

Abstract: In this paper the role of Chinese universities in enterprise-university research collaboration is investigated. This study focuses on a special aspect of the collaborationco-authored articles. “…Although the articles copublished by industrial researchers only accounted for a small part of all published articles of university and only a handful of articles published in the top journals, we identify a rapid growth in the annual number and share of UIC co-authored articles. It reflects the importance of cooperation with industry in the academic research and the strengthening of scientific contribution by industrial organizations in China (Liang et al 2012).
