Metacognition is concerned with a person’s awareness of his or her own thinking processes. It is essential to study the implementation of metacognition in teaching character education since it serves as the basis for the teachers to guide the students into holistic learning. This research focused on the teachers’ perceptions on the implementation of metacognition in character education. In particular, it aimed to obtain the information about the extent to which metacognition in character education in primary education led the teachers to school vision. The researchers employed mixed-method research involving twenty-one primary school teachers in a primary school in the Magelang region, Central Java. The instrument used were questionnaire and interview. The findings of this research showed that the teachers perceived the implementation of metacognition in teaching character education positively. However, the results of the interview revealed that they did not implement regulation of cognition wholly. Furthermore, the results of the open-ended questionnaire showed that there were four values which were well-implemented i.e., compassion, celebration, competence, and conviction. For the future research, therefore, urges future researchers to conduct a research in the broader scope of schools.

The purpose of this study is to provide insight into the implementation of religious character planting in early childhood in the family during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study involved 10 parents. The results of research on the COVID-19 pandemic make families spend more time with children. There are four aspects of religious character instilled in the family namely beliefs, practices, attitudes, and knowledge. In implementing religious characters there are several methods that parents use to embed every aspect of a religious character. Methods of lectures and storytelling to instill aspects of beliefs, methods of lectures, and direct practice in aspects of attitude and practice. Methods of storytelling and dialogue in instilling religious character knowledge in early childhood.

Emotional development of children at an early age needs to get the right stimulation and handling according to the stage of development, the role of the family is very influential on the development of emotions both positive emotions and negatif emotions, because the role is very important parents need to recognize emotions themselves before introducing, managing, motivating , and teach children to recognize the emotions of others, giving stimulation and appropriate actions to deal with the emotions that children show early on will determine the character of the child in the future parents can develop children's emotions through routine activities carried out at home and parents must understand the importance of experience for early childhood.
