The Role of Cardiac Ultrasound in Stem Cell Therapy

Abstract: The role of cardiac ultrasound in evaluating and treating patients with stem cell therapy is reviewed. A number of ultrasound techniques can be used in the evaluation, therapy delivery, and follow-up of patients treated with stem cell therapy. These techniques include evaluation of myocardial systolic and diastolic function, perfusion, ischemia, viability, synchrony, and imaging targeted to specific cell types.
