“…(Raj 1, Borz 4), 60-95% of the analyzed detrital zircon population and in the upper Terreneuvian (Holmia) 40-48% of the analyzed population represent the 0.68-0.54 Ga age cluster. The detritus must have come from the elevated Brunovistulian basement ridge, of which the SW part was composed of Cadomian 0.67-0.58 Ga (meta) granodiorites separated by Tonian metabasites (0.73 Ga) of the Central Basic Belt (Finger et al 2000b;Friedl et al 2000;Hanžl et al 2019), whereas the central and NE part was built of 0.61-0.58 Ga orthogneisses and paragneisses that were intruded by late/post tectonic granites at ~ 0.58-0.54 Ma (Dudek and Melková 1975;Dudek 1980;Finger et al 1989Finger et al , 1999Finger et al , 2000aŻelaźniewicz et al 2009). In the latter, the zircons have 0.64-0.61 Ga old cores, which suggests reworking/melting of older Neoproterozoic crust.…”

“…Part of such older zircons have younger outgrowths which indicate reworking of Meso/Neoarchean crust during superposed events (0.7-0.56 Ga and earlier ones). In Brunovistulia, the Cadomian hinterland is built of variously isotopically evolved crust (Finger et al 2000a, b;Hegner and Kröner 2000;Hanžl et al 2019), which is also disclosed by sandstones of the Upper Silesia Cambrian platform that come from the recycled, lithologically diversified orogen (Żelaźniewicz et al 2004, 2009).…”

It is com posed of crustal pieces of Gondwanan de scent which once be longed to the Cadomian orogen of Andean type (Fin ger et al, 2000;Kalvoda et al, 2003Kalvoda et al, , 2008elaŸniewicz et al, 2009;Hanžl et al, 2019). Brunovistulia is iden ti fi able up to the Bal kans mainly by subsurface in ves ti gations (Haydutov and Yanev, 1995;Kalvoda et al, 2008).…”

“…This elevated degree of sub-concordance may point to either (1) an analytical problem or (2) to unresolved common Pb contribution. The analytical procedures were previously described in Hanžl et al (2019), mentioning "high Hg contamination of the commercially available He carrier gas" that made common Pb correction impossible. Therefore, we assume that the sub-concordance is an effect of ubiquitous, but unresolved, common Pb.…”

“…In addition, it is evident that systematic external uncertainty, from the measurement of secondary standards, has not been propagated into the weighted mean ages. This is in disregard of the recommendations ofHorstwood et al (2016), a community manuscript published to maintain guidelines for the LA-ICP-MS analyses, such that all published data are accurate, comparable and valid Hanžl et al (2019). report an age deviation of their measured reference zircon materials Plešovice, GJ-1 and 91,500 of…”
