The response of the stilbestrol‐induced renal tumor to chemotherapeutic agents

Abstract: The inhibition of growth of the stilbestrol‐induced hamster kidney tumor by various chemotherapeutic agents was studied in vivo. 5‐Fluorouracil significantly retarded tumor growth and prolonged survival of the treated animals. The antibiotics mithramycin and dactinomycin markedly inhibited the tumor but did not prolong survival.
