The research of feeder automation based ONn IEC61850

Abstract

To accelerate feeder automation detection and fault solution, this paper applied the communication protocol and related technologies of IEC61850, proposed the information exchange among the feeder terminals, and improved GSE model which provided a function of fast and reliable input/output value in the whole system. Adopting the layered IP network communication theory, it divided the entire network into the backbone network and the branch network, and constructed a three-layer FA architecture. The three layers respectively were master station layer, slave station layer and terminal layer. Logic nodes supplied by IEC61850 were used to accomplish the modeling of TTU information in the paper. And then, it discussed the realization of terminal self-describing. Finally, this method was applied in the DAS, and it achieved the purpose of accelerating the detection and fault solution and improving the power distribution reliability. I. I NTRODUCTION With the development of society, economy and the technological progress, human put forward higher request to power grid security and power quality, the birth of smart grids solves these problems. The smart grids include smart transmission grids and smart distribution grids (SOG). SOG is the future vision of the distribution network[l], it with distribution senior automation technology as the foundation, through all sorts of advanced technologies, uses intelligent equipments to realize monitoring, optimization in the normal state of the power grid, and self-healing control under the abnormal operating condition[2]. Feeder automation (FA) is the most fundamental and important part of distribution network, being one of the key technologies to improve the reliability of the distribution network [1-3]. The key to realize intelligent in FA is the ability of making the intelligent electronic devices (lED) between the same or different manufactures exchange information and correctly using the interoperability of information, to avoid the phenomenon of 'automation island'. IEC61850 is a complete communication standard system on the substation automation system, using the top-down to hierarchical the system and define functions, and object models, thus completely gains the self-describing of object-oriented and application-oriented. Abstract model is adopted between devices to quickly input and output data values in system-wide, achieving the requirement of interoperabi lity[2-4]. The FA model based on the IEC61850 is an optimal control model.
