Abstract

We thank Bahat et al for their interest in and comments on our recent review, "Isolated Systolic Hypertension: An Update after SPRINT." 1 The author poses interesting observations on management of blood pressure (BP) from the viewpoint of frailty and gait speed status of elderly patients. We agree with the authors that frailty status and gait speed status are vital parameters in elderly patients; however, management of BP solely based on these factors does not seem prudent.To this context, the results of the SPRINT trial deserve closer scrutiny.
