“…The foliar application of ABA significantly advanced leaf abscission in 'Sultana' grapevines, data that are in accordance with earlier reports (Guak and Fuchigami 2001;Zhang et al 2011). This may be due to an increase in endogenous concentration of ABA (Mochioka et al 1996) that was strongly related to the degree of leaf abscission and other dormancy-related changes. The results showed that exogenous ABA, especially in application of 200 lM, can trigger an array of morpho-physiological modification involvement in the cold-acclimation process that would ultimately enable them to rapidly enhance their FT to cope with LTS compared to ABA-untreated vines.…”

“…In this study, the exogenous application of ABA may have led to an increase in the concentration of endogenous ABA, which was closely related to the extent of dormancy. In fact, concentrations of endogenous ABA were found to increase as the grape nodes entered dormancy and were the highest at maximum dormancy (Mochioka et al, 1996;Or et al, 2000). ABA was considered a positive regulator of dormancy induction and maintenance (Kucera et al, 2005).…”

“…Vitis amurensis Rupr., as one of the most cold‐tolerant wine grape species, is now widely cultivated in Northeast China. Their wild resources are also reported to have been found in Japan, Korea, and Russia (Liu & Li, 2013; Mochioka et al, 1996). They showed excellent resistance to many kinds of grape disease and are a valuable resource of breeding for cold and disease resistance.…”
