Electric vehicles (EVs) have recently been significantly developed in terms of both performance and 10 drive range. There already are various models commercially available, and the number of EVs on road 11 increases rapidly. Although most existing EVs are charged by electric cables, companies like Tesla, 12 BMW and Nissan have started to develop wireless charged EVs that don't require bulky cables. 13 Rather than physical cable connection, the wireless (inductive) link effectively avoids sparking over 14 plugging/unplugging. Furthermore, wireless charging opens new possibilities for dynamic chargingcharging while driving. Once realised, EVs will no longer be limited by their electric drive range and the requirement for battery capacity will be greatly reduced. This has been prioritised and promoted worldwide, particularly in UK, Germany and Korea. This paper presents a thorough literature review on the wireless charging technology for EVs. The key technical components of wireless charging are summarised and compared, such as compensation topologies, coil design and communication. To enhance the charging power, an innovative approach towards the use of superconducting material in coil designs is investigated and their potential impact on wireless charging is discussed. In addition, health and safety concerns about wireless charging are addressed, as well as their relevant standards. Economically, the costs of a wide range of wireless charging systems has also been summarised and compared.

Contactless charging is evolving fast in many domains and applications such as the electrical vehicles (EV). The principle consists of transferring energy between two systems without having any electrical connection between them. This power transfer can be realized by emitting a magnetic field for Inductive Power Transfer (IPT). In the automotive domain, the application of contactless charging to supply power to the vehicle while driving is one of the solutions envisaged to solve the limited autonomy range of EV and reduced its cost but the system must comply with existing standards (e.g., allocated frequency range and radiated electromagnetic emissions), as summarized in this paper.

The constant weather conditions have an impact on electric car research and development during the past ten years. As a result there is increase in global temperatures, people are becoming increasingly aware of the necessity of switching to electric automobiles. Wireless power transmission is the effective transmission of electrical energy between two sites through air or other environments without the use of cables or other materials (WPT). This can be used in situations when continuous or immediate energy transfer is needed but using standard wires would be impractical, expensive, burdensome, unsafe, or undesired. The amount of time needed to wait at charging stations while the battery is being charged will be much reduced when charging is done on the road while the car is being driven. Electric vehicles offer an option, but if they're going to take over as the preferred means of transportation, their charging infrastructure needs to develop. For this, charging systems ought to be developed. Solutions for dynamic charging are more dependable, quicker, and simpler to use. Moreover, the battery size can be reduced while the range is expanded. This charging system can be used at bus stops, traffic lights, and transport routes.
