The reactions of cyclotriphosphazene with 2-(2-hydroxyethylamino)ethanol. Spectroscopic studies of the derived products

Abstract: The reactions of cyclotriphosphazene (1) with 2-(2-hydroxyethylamino)-ethanol (2) were investigated. 2-(2-hydroxyethylamino)-ethanol (2) is a tri-functional reagent consisting of both aliphatic hydroxyl and the secondary amino groups and its nucleophilic substitution reactions with cylotriphosphazene can lead to different product types; open chain, spiro, ansa, bridged and their mixtures. The reactions with one, two and three equimolar ratios of 2-(2hydroxyethylamino)-ethanol, in the presence of NaH at 0-10 0 … Show more

“…Due to the increasing demand for modern materials with improved performance, interest in organic–inorganic cyclic systems and polymers is growing. Among them, cyclic compounds containing phosphorus and nitrogen [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ]; phosphorus and oxygen [ 6 ]; boron and oxygen [ 7 , 8 ]; nitrogen, oxygen, and silicon [ 9 ] atoms; nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds based on imidazole and guanidine [ 10 ], including proton sponges, linear siloxanes, and phosphazenes [ 11 , 12 , 13 ]; organotin polymers [ 14 ]; and copper-containing coordination polymers [ 15 ] should be noted. Researchers continue to find new applications for such compounds.…”
