Abstract:The use of the PureVu system to clean inadequately-prepared colons prior to colonoscopy could save the US healthcare system between $US3.1 to $3.7 billion and reduce the incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) due to missed diagnoses, according to a study published in Cost Effectiveness Resource Allocation.The authors developed a lifetime Markov model for 60-year-old patients at average risk of CRC who would undergo 10-year colonoscopies as part of their care.
