“…The revised and amended questionnaire contained 19 items (Houben, Gijsen, et al, ) and adapted to a 17‐item questionnaire (Bowey‐Morris, Purcell‐Jones, & Watson, ; Watson, Bowey, Purcell‐Jones, & Gales, ). Therefore, in order to lower the burden on the participants and increase response rate, an adapted version was created based on a selection of items that demonstrated consistent high loadings and correlated with the total score across multiple studies (Bowey‐Morris et al, ; Laekeman et al, ; Mutsaers et al, ; Mutsaers et al, ; Watson et al, ). The short PABS‐PT version included 13 items (4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, 20, 25–27, 30, and 31), eight for the biomedical subscale and five for the behavioural subscale (see Ostelo et al () for further examination of all items).…”

“…Although originally developed for physiotherapists, the instrument has also been used to assess medical doctors' conceptions of LBP (Jellema et al, ; Watson et al, ; Fullen et al, ). The scale has further been adapted for beliefs regarding neck pain (Vonk et al, ; Mutsaers et al, ).…”

“…The questionnaire is underpinned by the biomedical and biopsychosocial models [35]. The PABS-PT has previously performed well in terms of internal consistency, reliability and validity testing, and the scale has the potential to be adapted for application in the osteoarthritis context [35,[37][38][39][40]. Recently, the questionnaire has been used to measure clinicians' beliefs about osteoarthritis [29], but it is unclear if the questionnaire is appropriate in this context.…”
