The prognostic value of procalcitonin in critically ill cases of systematic inflammatory response syndrome in dogs

Abstract: Using markers for early diagnosis can help to reduce mortality and morbidity in systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS). This study investigates the role of procalcitonin (PCT) as a prognostic value in dogs with SIRS in the intensive care unit. Fifty-five dogs were selected and studied.
