“…16 Similar findings have been objectified in patients with liver metastases. 17 Interestingly, the extent of prior surgery measured by the PSS-score does not seem to influence survival in patients with recurrence even though one may suspect more extensive prior surgery to complicate both the surgical procedure but also the postoperative morbidity. 11 Survival after local recurrence was better compared to diffuse intra-abdominal recurrence and isolated distant metastases.…”

“…McCall et al [19] Journal of Surgical Oncology The relation between recurrence interval and adjuvant therapy is an important issue. Kaiser et al [35] reported that the recurrence interval of CRC is a prognostic factor. They claimed that the recurrence interval was inversely correlated with the initial tumor stage.…”

“…The overall recurrence rate for this disease is between 8 and 50% according to literature data (Das, Skibber et al 2006;Kaiser, Kang et al 2006). The risk for recurrence is highest in the first two years postoperatively (Juhl G 1990;McCall JL 1995;Micev M 2000;Krivokapic Z 2004).…”
