The Preschool Handicapped Class: A Transdisciplinary Approach to Teaching Language

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to describe a transdisciplinary preschool programme for handicapped children where the speech-language pathologist is a member of the teaching team in aselj-contained classroom. Specific language training is the focus of all daily activities, facilitating the extraction and use of grammatical rules. All activities centre around a specifc language topic, A sample weekly lesson plan i s provided.
