The Preparation Research of Powder Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer

Abstract: This paper uses centrifugal spray drying process to prepare powder polycarboxylate superplasticizer. The best spray drying process: speed of centrifugal atomizer is 16000r/min, feed liquid temperature is 30°C, import / export air temperature of drying chamber is 200°C/80°C. It achieves a high concentration of polycarboxylate superplasticizer to prepare powder product. It solves the problem of sticky and low-performance of powder polycarboxylate superplasticizer during traditional preparation. Analyzing the str… Show more

“…In patent CN200780034081.5 [17], published in 2012, TOHO Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., reported the synthesis of PCE containing polyamide polyamine, but there was a small amount of water in the final product, due to the ammonium persulfate solution used in the stage of polymerization. Gui [18] reported a powder PCE prepared from liquid PCE by a centrifugal spray drying process, but the high drying temperature can bring the risks of PCE combustion and degradation.…”

“…According to its action mechanism, the adsorption of PCE to cement particles usually occurs in the interface between water and cement, and thus PCEs are supplied by liquid in the market. However, liquid products have higher cost in storage and long-distance transportation [2]. Researchers usually prepare the powder PCEs by spray drying process [2,3], but a potential risk of fired dry products [4] still exists.…”
