The Preparation and in Vitro Viability of Isolated External Intercostal Muscle Fiber Bundles From Sheep

Abstract: The preparation of isolated intact muscle fiber bundles from the external intercostal muscle of sheep is described. The fiber bundles maintained both ATP and creatine phosphate at levels similar to those in situ, over a 4-h incubation, and appear to be a suitable preparation for in vitro studies of large animal muscle metabolism.
